Schools in English, French, Germany and Romanian in Romania
Schools in Romanian
When applying for an educational program in the Romanian language, the foreign citizens have the obligation to present a Romanian language certificate. The same condition is also imposed in case of student transfer.
Overseas citizens who do not know Romanian can be enrolled in our University after they finish the Preparatory year (during which they learn basic Romanian and the specialty language specific for the profile of the future training - agriculture, animal science, veterinary medicine, etc).
The preparatory year lasts 1 academic year (9 months) for undergraduate level, and at least 6 months for master, and doctoral level. The preparatory year is held by the Faculty of Letters of Cluj Napoca. If your situation requires you to enroll in the Romanian Language Preparatory Course, we will assist you in enrolling in the preparatory course.
Exception is made for:
•Those who prove with Romanian study documents that they have studied in Romania at least four consecutive years in an education institution in Romania.
•Those who already know Romanian and successfully pass the Romanian language test in our University.
Schools in English, French or Germany in Romania
Applicants for courses taught in English/French must make proof of their language skills by a certificate of linguistic competence in the language of the course. This certificate has to be sent with the other documents in the application file (see
For applicants who cannot obtain this certificate in their country, faculties that offer courses in foreign languages will organize a test of foreign language (which will require their presence at the forwarding of documents).
The language certificate/ test is not required from citizens coming from countries where the official language is the language in which courses are taught used by the faculty, and who can prove with documents that they followed courses in the same language.
Both the Romanian and English/French language tests are organized in accordance with the methodology approved by the Romanian Language Institute.
